Okay so I have finally announced that we are sharing a novella with our newsletter friends. This is to give you an insight on the lives of Noah and Ollie and their story and love.
So short story, 50 pages roughly with potentially another big surprise inside of it. But the part that blows my mind is the feeling when that first draft is completed.
I wrote Cranberry Kisses, quickly, probably quicker than I would have originally liked. But I made a point to set a deadline with my editor (shout out to Caroline at Love & Edits) so that it would be done and then potentially ready for you ASAP.
Which meant I needed to get my BUTT MOVING and FAST.
This week was a world wind, I spent every free minute of my day writing, with the hopes of finishing the manuscript in time to get it printed and then go through it once myself before sending it to Caroline.
SO I WROTE AND WROTE AND WROTE
then on Thursday morning, it was done. poof. bam. donzo. ready for printing.
I ordered the print from my local staples, thank you staples for same day printing and pick up. and went to pick it up on my lunch break.
now when I tell you that I cried. I cried. I couldn't even put it down. Heck its a manuscript of the first draft. It isn't even done yet.
BUT I CRIED.
I am so happy, and so proud and so excited to see where this story takes me. Even if it is not great. Not your favorite book or not even something you would recommend. I WROTE A DAMN BOOK. and that is really freaking cool.
So the feeling of success, accomplishment, proud that you feel when finishing that first manuscript is worth it. It made me driven to not only get Cranberry Kisses out to as fast as possible. BUT motivation to keep writing Beautiful Notes, share the story that is engrained into my brain.
And I hope you all strive to do something big, and scary, that you never thought you would do. Because the feeling afterwards....
IS EVERYTHING!
